Thank you for hosting this! This was a really good idea- I hope we get more things like this in the future from the rest of the petsite. May we all follow in this forum’s footsteps!
I just wanted to do a one-off thing, so I'm stepping away for now, but I encourage all participants (especially those still seeking sponsorship) to check out the Custom Apparel Sponsorship thread!
Thank you so much for hosting this :) I really appreciate the chance to give some smaller artists a chance to shine
To anyone else in this thread, I'm a bit of a newer artist myself but I don't want to give up on making art! If anyone has anything they did or didn't like about my ram horns, I'd love to hear feedback, both good and bad. :)
@Meesh I think you're on the right track with your horns. You've used solid colors and are shading in a way that gives them believable bumps.
I think what I'd like to see you do is practice more sketches of ram horns from reference. Really understand their shape and where they grow out of the head on sheep, so you can translate that to a wolf more believably. A more confident underdrawing will help you make your ram horns idea shine.
I'm really glad you're putting yourself out there by entering competitions! Keep doing that as well, or if not, keep drawing and practicing.
@Desnik I appreciate the feedback so much! I'm going to get started on some sketches tonight and see if I can improve before redoing my attempt at these! :)
omg, thank you so much desnik! I'll definitely take up your advice and make the spotty patterns for all the species, though it might take me a while ; w ; I am not used to the styling of LW it really makes me happy that you like my first attempt <3
