Proposing Butterfly/moths wings for Volmyrs.

I'll stop counting entries at 12 noon today. All the CATs are in my inventory, ready to go.

Feel free to squeak in last minute entries. It will take me about an hour to sort through them all.

Thank you all SO MUCH for entering or even just considering! This was a really hard decision for me, as these casual contests end up being.

Some considerations:
1. I didn’t actually have enough time to go through and see which entries were from artists who already had CAs up in the shop. I wanted to, but I just plain ran out of time to check each individual entry. Apologies if I’m not able to stick to my promise from earlier to favor newer artists. I wasn’t expecting this many entries!

1. Many entries were sponsored elsewhere but it seems quite a few of them were sponsored because of this post — so I’m very happy about that! I had to un-consider entries where artists self-reported this, but their entries are still amazing and you should all look for them in the shop to buy them. Thank you for being so honest.
2. EVERY entry is good in its own way. If you want me to tell you what’s working about it please feel free to DM me! My decisions do not reflect on anyone’s overall work quality. Much of my decision was subjective.

Aesthetic

I felt like this entry was the most Lorwolf in aesthetic — from subject matter to styling. A wholesome bit of apparel in a game about hanging out with knitting otters. Clean cell shading and lineart. Also very snugly fitting the wolf, and draping believably. Well done, hope to see this in the shop soon!

Practicality

Of all the entries that featured all eight poses, this was the only one where it was drawn individually fitting each wolf. I wanted to give this both Technique and Practicality awards but have opted for Practicality due to its fashion uses. I could see this piece working in a lot of different wolf outfits — vaporwave, punk, science fiction, goth — so I hope this CAT sees you some nice profits.

Technique

Sometimes…simple is good. Here, I was really wowed by the attention to the wolf’s contours. Its a lot of markings applied in a tasteful way. I believe these spotty stripes are on the wolf and are natural markings. It’s one of those ideas that will work for a wide variety of wolves. Teeeechnically I wanted to see more poses in this category so please consider working your wonderful technique on different wolves with this CAT. (not required, just suggested!)

Finally…Okay, you totally got me with Orrin theming and a cloth wrap. I'm really easy that way. This design is super cute, I want more and I want them on different poses and different packs. Enjoy your CAT.
