Hello! I have been grinding in the campaign today, met 14 wild wolves and befriended none successfully.
just as a disclaimer I’m not looking For wild wolves (ww) to be made less rare.
however it is very disheartening to be failing so many times. And very boring to click through the same scenes so many times, so I have a suggestion!
An adoption centre, of some sort. A wolf npc who takes care of lost wild pups until a suitable clan can come and take care of them.
You‘re grinding in campaign; wild wolf encounters still happen, and still have the same succeed vs fail rate. but instead of failing, the wolf gives you a quest, something like “I have a friend who cares for pups in search of a clan. To find him you will need to hunt for __ and take it to e.g. windsborne retreat in Icerun territory. You will find him there.”
the instructions should be recorded as a quest in campaign so you can go back if you forget.
The wolf could either give you a quest name which may lead to a way to spend pebbles refreshing hunts, or give you an item which drops as a reward. the second option is harder and I’m not sure how fair it would be so I prefer the first.
Ive seen a lot of people saying hunts seem useless so it’d be a good way to integrate them into the site a bit more.
anyway, you complete the quest and bring the item to the correct area, and meet a wolf who is willing to join your clan!
I think it’s better than the pity coin option because that still makes every fail disappointing, whilst this gives the user opportunity to explore new areas of the site.
To keep the amount of wild wolves roughly the same, the encounter rate could be lowered slightly? I’d rather encounter a little less often and have a decent shot at getting it.
additionally the quests could have a time limit- e.g 12h?
