Do abilities change if a wolf is breed changed?

Literally just the title, I'm wondering if a wolf's abilities will change to their new breed's abilities when they're breed changed? I want to switch both my founders to be volmyr in the future, but I prefer the jocol's abilities, so I just want to know in advance if I'll need to try and compensate for the different skills by getting different companions or something haha!

the abilities should change to the ones you're trying to swap to. so, your volmyrs wont have jocol abilities
example: this bracchus custom wolf
