I am new and really enjoying this game! I ahve a couple questions tho

I haven't encountered a befriendable wolf yet- is that just poor luck or am I missing something?

Also, how do I obtain ore without buying from the flea market? I want to make a pickaxe so I can mine but I'm not quite sure where to get the ingredients.

Wild wolves are just rare! And, as a heads up, equally as rare to actually befriend once you find them.

As for ore, you just gotta get through the mine once without picks or wheels! It's slow going, but you'll get enough to make at least a pick from that first trip!

• wild wolves are pretty rare! it's gonna take quite a bit to encounter them (and a lot more to have them join you… oh no.) you can check if wild wolves can appear in an area if there's "encounter: wild wolf" in the possible scenarios
  
• ore can be obtained from mining! you don't need a pickaxe or a wheel to go mine

I've been collecting data on encounter rates and from what I can tell there's a 1/10 chance of befriending a wild wolf, so it'll take a while

i've befriended 7 wild wolves out of 73 encounters

in my experience it can take as little as 1 encounter to befriend if you're lucky or as many as 31 so it's really up to rng

How do you check for wild wolf encounters?

Before going into the “explore” on any chosen area, there's a “Possible Scenarios” tab at the bottom under Quest log, that shows what you can encounter in that specific area. :)

If you mean how to check how many you have encountered, that's something people are keeping a track of themselves!
