honestly, i agree. i thought things seemed a bit off in that regard but i was hesitant to say anything since i'm sure the devs are super busy right now, but the complete lack of literally any communication is a bit ??????
i was genuinely shocked to go do a den expansion today and saw that it asked for moonstones instead of pebbles. that…did not feel good. no reasoning for it? no public changelog? things that like make a massive difference. i still think it's an awful change no matter what but at least tell us that the change happened
I'm not specifically concerned with the lack of a welcome wagon, but it does still hit on something that I've been harping about since beta (and has been brought to my attention it was requested before then) – we know the team is small, but the lack of direct response to suggestions & feedback, as well as lack of any apparent desire to engage the community in active correspondence is supremely frustrating.
Things that have concerned the community since before launch have never been directly addressed, and news posts that tiptoe into suggesting that feedback has been seen aren't enough. We need better communication, and while the mods are nice for help & questions about the site itself… They are not enough in that we need feedback from the devs, especially early on while there is still a chance to change things in a more meaningful way.
At this point it would be great if they would even communicate over email regarding support inquiries. I asked to change my email through support nearly the minute the site launched, despite following all instructions nothing has happened.
I've also requested a response regarding an uncomfortable interaction with staff, and no word. It's more than a little worrying that the devs have gone silent and haven't asked any other staff member to step up and take a lead with communicating with the community.
Yeah, the lack of much of anything from the devs is concerning. I don't think they have to be all over the place 24/7, or even have to be fully transparent on everything. I get that its a small team, probably dealing with their first launch, and that game development is difficult. But even a bit would be nice.
The lack of changelog for yesterday's maintenance (as of writing) is also concerning. I get things happen and sometimes you need to rewrite parts of the changelog, but it shouldn't take more than a day for the patch notes to get posted.

Yeah, this is wild to me and really a red flag. Usually changelogs go out immediately with or shortly after an update, not a day after. Not communicating what changed for such a long time and leaving us to find out isn't a good move.
As it is now with the lack of communication in regards to silent updates and late changelogs, it feels like the devs weren't actually ready for the game to go live.
A bit of my thoughts on the situation: yes, the devs need to communicate more, but also I'm pretty sure Lorwolf is run by a very small team. Also Alaunis has been going through personal issues as well so maybe that plays a part?

I completely understand the lack of communication but I don’t mind it honestly. Now that you mention it though I do agree that it is a bit off. Knowing that one of the devs are currently going through personal issues and that their team is rather small, I can definitely negate some of that to being such a small and new team to this niche! I say give it some cautionary time.
I completely agree with @ Pig and @Swordsman. Would I have liked a little more pizazz, and maybe a fun event or two? Absolutely, but the main dev already had to push back the launch date due to personal developments, so I would encourage everyone to give the dev team a little grace. Not to mention I have been on games and pet sims for launch day many times over, and I always have to remind myself that the amount of hype I have, will never compare to what will actually happen on the day. Usually, launch days have problems. Whether it's bugs, changes in features you may not like, etc. I too used to get rather disappointed at pet sim launches, until I realized they all tend to have the same launch day issues and to take it with a grain of salt.
we know that lw is run by a small team, but the kind of communication we're asking for is very basic and simple. patch notes accompany an update, there is some kind of welcome upon launch. when major changes to site mechanics are made (i.e. premium currency instead of free currency for adding dens) the fact that that change happened at all needs to be communicated. i am completely sympathetic to the work of a small team and alaunis dealing with personal stuff! this is all just kind of…..the basics of running a game
