After being spoiled by FR and PCE I find myself desperately wanting a database or just a list of items somewhere so I can reference what people are talking about. I have no idea what most things are or where they come from and it'd be really nice to have this information somewhere that we can browse.

Especially if the database would inform you about which items are actually useful. I've come across a post saying that certain items like Trinkets might be useful for quests (?), but it's only some of them. There's nothing to reference to know which to keep and what's worth selling, so my instinct is to hold on to everything when I might not need to, simply because I don't know.

I've found myself many times looking at the requirements for a crafting recipe and wondering just how I can find them. A listing of what things are and where they drop would be amazing.

Also seconding the part to include where to get items from. I see some are used for crafting, but I've got no clue on where to obtain them from.

The leather is a good example. There are leather strips needed for crafting, and I've found you can buy some raw leather from the Market, but they're not the same and I'm not sure where to get the strips from or if I need to craft it or something else.

A database to clarify the differences between these items would be extremely handy. Especially for those who might be misled into thinking these two things are the same, and then informing them of where to buy or where they drop from or how to obtain them in general would be greatly useful.

This would be extremely helpful, especially in figuring out where to source items. Until we have more in-depth guide topics filled out, I expect most of the threads in the help forum are going to ask about where to find x item. I didn’t understand where my four companions came from and how to get more, aside from buying them from the mole shop, until I dug through the help forum—I wouldn’t have thought to check the arena for an extra shop. Even a general “where to find this category of item” in each part of the database would be fantastic

FR's original item database was a fan creation if I remember correctly; they added it to the game a few years in at least after users had been maintaining a Google Sheet. It's a great suggestion to have an official site one, and I support it.

But if you want it fast, you want to encourage players to start it. I'd be happy to work on it, myself.
