obtained a companion recently and it mentions something about leveling them up, but i don't understand how you're supposed to. there's no guide or “tutorial” button on it nor can i find anything about them in the faq, so i'm at a lost of if i'm supposed to equip them or do something with them, or if they're only meant to be useful in certain activities instead of in general, etc. any guidance is appreciated.
equip them to a wolf and then you'll be able to use them in fighting and hunting when that wolf is also involved. they gain experience alongside the wolf in those activities.you can also interact with them every once in a while (different per companion) and get them experience, and you items/money/exp, as well.
