Last topic was deleted, does this mean the devs finally logged into the site?
Anyway, Alaunis said the radio silence will continue until morale improves (last part is a joke), for those that might have missed it.

Thanks for the new thread! I will make sure to save this one on the Wayback too!
We're not allowed to say negative things about the devs.
Ive got a Tumblr post with the whole thread!Good for the community to know, thanks for preserving this. I'd also suggest preserving it off-site somewhere in one of the unofficial discords or something, since the team has never been particularly open to discussion here.
The thread got nuked while I was writing, but here's what I have to say in response to this tone of review being kind of harsh:
I am about to ramble. Sorry! I do think there is a point on there being a disingenuous tone, but also I don't think that's the full picture here.

Bashful Games made good on their Kickstarter rewards... on paper. They said "we will give you these items in the game" and they did. Yes, they fulfilled the rewards.
But everyone knows that's not actually all what a petsite/gacha game is. These games are genre-focused on always updating new content, and thriving off community engagement and return.
Imagine a gacha game with no new cards or new events. This genre of game is essentially a longterm DLC promise. You need new stuff to keep users who got all the old stuff around. You need to keep old users around so that new users can trade and grow. This is a gacha game. It's not the same as a finished title that you roll out and move onto the next. It is a constant job, and if you don't like that demand for a gacha, you shouldn't make a gacha. The framework may be done in the team's eyes, but it's never "finished."You could argue that a gacha game with enough content could theoretically step back and not add new things, but Lorwolf certainly doesn't have enough meat in it to ride on itself sustainably. There isn't a team big enough in this indie sphere to do that sort of thing within a reasonable timeframe.Calypso was attempting to say that the promise of the game itself hasn't actually been kept up on, in that a dead gacha game isn't a game. Which is true, and I would want to know that if I were on this Kickstarter and new to the company. But it may have rung out as if Lorwolf didn't deliver on Kickstarter rewards. Maybe disingenuous. On paper, they have, but also... they haven't?A more appropriate review may be "I got my Kickstarter rewards, but the devs have abandoned the game," etc.But also, I disagree how this is regarded as if the devs ARE your personal ex or friend. They're not. They are a business. It's no doubt very hard to run a business, but it doesn't invade their boundaries to leave a negative review for a business. That is what reviews are for.I've been on the end of having consumers scream at me. It's not fun. But if you're a business, you have to take bad reviews impersonally. This game is a service being provided, not just a hugbox passion project with no monetary involvement. There is real money involved, and quite a lot of it. Being upset about that and expressing discontent is not at all the same as harassing an ex in your personal life. And mixing the interpersonal feeling with the business reality is exactly how you get unprofessionalism like this. It's probably not intended. I imagine Aluanis is under deep distress and I feel for her. But that's what it is. They have failed to deliver. I would disagree to frame a public expression of upset with that fact as a predatory invasion of boundaries.
Have a blue and orange wolf? I might buy it!
