If you're just wanting to unlock the recipe for completion or you just enjoy making the more complex foods, that's totally cool and you can ignore this! But if your concern is energy generation so you can play the game, you can actually make more food for your dogs, energy-to-cooking-slot ratio wise, by just cooking the raw fish and not making complex recipes at all. The complex recipes are kind of a trap, they look nice individually and seem like a lot of energy, and they would be worth making if they gave you as many items as the slots they took up, but they just... don't.
