I've run into this three times in the past few days. Mining stops randomly and won't restart until I move to the next area and come back again. It's eating up my wheels.
I'm using a laptop running Windows 11 home and updated Firefox. It's happening with a gold pickax when it was new, about halfway used up, and now at the 1% mark.
On the screenshot you can see in the upper left the pause icon with only 3 ores in the cart.
