Considering we are in the last stretch for the Darkspine event, with only 3 days and a few hours left, and there hasn't been a single comment from staff on the bug reports regarding the discrepancy in prices for the 4 soft-retiring companions, I think it is safe to say this was intentional. And as such I would like to officially make the suggestion to lower the price to be in line with previous events.

Yes, during the first event (Icerun) the prices were also at this level. However, after much feedback of the community, the prices were retroactively lowered at the end, to make the event more manageable, so to me it seems weird that they were increased again for only this event.

~~So in short, please lower the prices of the 4 companions to be in line with how they were during goldsea and murkwood.~~

Seems like it was a bug after all.

Extremely hard agree. It's a lot more approachable of an event for people that can't play the entire duration, so people don't gotta grind so hard to get at least one of everything. That was well worth celebrating the last two events! Entering gratuitous speculation territory here, is that because Quiche is on vacation and nobody is sending player feedback up the chain of command currently?

Lorwolf consistently has this exact same issue of trying to balance new all-users-invited low key events, new low level cooking or low level crafting recipes, etc for people that have been playing since the beginning and who have already amassed a ton of items or who play a long time every day... instead of who those events and items are more geared towards-- low level and new players with the various recipes, and everyone regardless of account age with events.

The events are hard to participate in for new players without the time to level up a few of their wolves and companions for use in defeating campaign bosses, but this was achievable-- often with help from older players that donate level 10 wolves AND food bundles at the starts of these events to new players-- when the prices weren't quite so punishing, so they still had time to learn how to grind for tickets. I don't think they need to be harder! New players should be able to get at least most things without having to throw their first month playing into grinding so hard. Great way to burn out new players, and we need all of those we can get to have enough fun they wanna stay if we actually wanna start gaining traction. :/

Agree! The events already punish everyone who's not a hard-core grinder.

For myself personally after four events the month-long grind is too much, and I'm finding the rewards aren't worth the mind-numbing grind, and I barely want to even try. Having companions taking up so much of the hard-won tickets makes me even less motivated to participate.

Support! I didn't even realize at first until it was mentioned in another thread that the prices were inflated. T-T

I've only participated in 3 out of the 4 seasonal pack events. I missed Icerun's, sadly, due to being on a little break to work on my own stuff in RL. So, I didn't know that the prices for this event reflected what was going on during Icerun's event. Again, I actually didn't realize until much later, after I had bought all the companions that I needed and was left wondering why I was already feeling the burn so early on until the realization set in that they were just more expensive. I was already burnt out after Murkwood's event. I've actually been forcing myself to continue in the events simply because my brain refuses to allow me to miss out on seasonal goodies like apparel and companions (I already beat myself up for missing all the fun stuff from Icerun). So I really hope that next year's events will take some of the user feedback above into consideration. I'd really hate to end up dropping Lorwolf again because I don't have the time or energy to keep up the continuous grind of ticket collecting if the prices continue to be so high.
