Small Crafting Question

Out of all my professions Crafting is my lowest leveled one. I have been trying to work my way through the achievements for it and, well, frankly I just can't seem to focus on this profession at all. It's quite tedious and I find myself even overwhelmed by it, at times, because I just don't know what to do other than craft Bone Paste, which gives very little exp, or the occasional Moonstone. Even making apparel sometimes makes me feel like I am wasting mats by crafting things I probably just won't ever use. So, I'd really like to know how you guys go about leveling up your crafting skill?

I don't know if this is the popular strategy or not but I make a bunch of simple jewelry and then sell it. Since I sell it afterwards it doesn't feel like a total waste, and it gives more xp than bone paste. Mining equipment is the other thing, since those can be useful.

I had started doing the whole jewelry making, but ended up quitting because I was like surely these won't sell. xD I will have to try that strategy now. Or, I could always use more mining equipment. Wheels seem to always go like crazy, even gold ones. Thanks for the input. I will try what you've suggested and see how that goes for a bit.
