Vex looks at the herbs before eating them, knowing their purpose. She forces the herb down before quickly turning away to throw up, throwing up a mix of stomach content and black goo. The green glow dulls in her eyes but isn't entirely gone, but the darkness that had been rolling off of her had almost completely disappeared. She turns back around, noting that Sobena had already climbed up the cliff, before looking at Doom. "You are a sensor, aren't you?", She asks, her voice low and gruff from throwing up. "That would explain why you reacted the way you did when you went to climb onto my back.", She didn't have an accusing tone in her voice or anywhere on her face. Waves of understanding rolled off of her, making it clear that she would keep his secret for as long as he needed.

Hurricane tilts her head watching the two interact with each other before a panicked expression appears on her face when Sobena explains what had happened. "I will go down and make sure they are alright. I will carry Doom up before making sure that Vex can get up here on her own as I wont be able to carry her. Also I think we are evolving.... gaining powers or awakening powers that used to be dormant. Ice is a useful one. Imma go before I start rambling or ranting.", she says, shifting her wings uncomfortably before turning and leaping off the ledge and gliding down to Vex and Doom.

While Hurricane swooped down to check out Vex and Doom, Sobena found this time to flop onto her side, stretching out her body as far as she could go and allowing her body to soak up the coolness of the stone beneath her. Her tongue still stuck out of her mouth, her breathing still a ragged mess, but this would help to bring down her body temperature after that energy burning climb. Vlade eyed his sister. A scowl set upon his maw. Sobena's ears gave a little flick. Her brother didn't have to speak for her to know that he was not pleased with the situation at hand. "Don't be such a worrywart." she chuckled, "They're nice. They offered help. Even a place to stay for the night so we can rest up and recover."

"Nice isn't a commodity we can afford to let our guard down around." Vlade responded rather harshly. His ears snapping back to pin against his skull. "Nice doesn't get us food to bring back home to Aunt Tearle. Nice is nothing more than a weakness in this world."

"Pffft!" Sobena huffed as she titled her head downwards as she opened an eye to look at her brother, "That's not how father taught us. He taught us to be kind to everyone..."

"That was before the Consumed became a threat and everyone turned on each other in their panic. Or have you forgotten? Don't be foolish, Sobe." Vlade snorted. She could feel him bristling over there, but she wasn't worried.

"Listen, we're just going to stay for the night. You need your rest. You practically almost turned back there. If Hurricane wasn't there to help you..." She paused when she noticed her brother's lips quivering into snarl. "Look, just try and give them the benefit of the doubt. They are in the same boat as us and all they have done is shown us kindness. Something they didn't have to give, but they did. In the morning we can thank them for their hospitality and head back home. Okay?"

"Fine. But this doesn't mean I'm going to like it." he said gruffly, "You may be bigger than me now, but you're still my little sister. It's my job to worry. It's my job to keep you safe. Just... try not to be too naive. It would be stupid to completely drop our guard now. They may be nice now, but that doesn't mean they will continue to stay that way."

"Yeah, yeah. I hear ya." Sobena murmured as she closed her eye and tried to relax upon the stone floor. She didn't say it out loud, but she desperately hoped everyone down below the cave was alright.

Doom flinched as Vex said that, ears drooping. Was he really that obvious?

He begrudgingly clambered on her back, keeping his long legs together as she took off. It was a short flight to the cave, and when they landed, he saw that the grey Lupin was awake. Vlade.

He slid off of Vex’s back, giving her a nod of thanks. His leg had become sore after being scrunched up, even for a short time. He licked it, keeping one eye on Vlade. The grey wolf had seemed to jump slightly when he first caught a glimpse of him- perhaps mistaking him for a Consumed. Now was not a good time to be a black wolf.

Purple eyes scanning the cave, he spotted a few herbs, a corner that appeared to be a sleeping mat, and the smell of preserved food. Food… he hadn’t had that in a while, giving all of it to the pups and hunters. He was fine, with his extended ability to go without eating, but he needed to eat eventually. However, he couldn’t just steal it. Not after Vex had carried him here. Maybe he could find something later.

A sharp aura caught him off guard. Vlade- he was glaring at Doom, or was he just glaring in general? He seemed to be arguing with Sobena, who had arrived before him and Vex. Strange.

Once everyone was safe in the confines of the cave, Sobena lifted herself up off of the cool stone of the floor. She felt better now. Not so hot and no longer panting uncontrollably. "Hey, you guys! Are you feeling better?" she asked, quick to check up on her potential new friends, "How's your leg, Doom? And how's your wounds, Vex?" She sat up now, the little stub of a tail she had wagging happily behind her.

Vlade, on the other hand, gave a silent 'hmph' as he turned his back away from the others. Padding over to the ledge just outside of the cave entrance he slowly lay back down. He'd let Sobena do the talking, he supposed. If anything his sister knew them better. Even if they had helped them, he wasn't about to trust them. They hadn't earned that. Not yet. Besides, his head was beginning to ache. He sighed as he looked down at the forest below. A slight breeze began to drift through the tops of the trees. Off in the distance thick grey clouds loomed. Inhaling deeply, Vlade watched the horizon intently. Rain was coming.

Doom lifted his head, startled by her sudden question. “Er- it’s doing fine, yeah…” It still hurt, but wasn’t expelling so much Consumed energy anymore. His head was clear enough to think straight again.

The Dire gave a little nod of her head to Doom's words. "That's good." she said with a smile, before looking around the cave. She hadn't noticed much before, but now that she had the time to look around, she took quick note of the inventory within the cavern. It was small, but the Volmyr had said prior they were welcome to some food and water. Standing up and giving her body a little stretch, Sobena decided to go investigate what was in stock. It only took a few minutes to count several well-preserved salted meats and a few clay jars of fresh water. Left to her own devices she began to portion out some of the meats and water. Once everything was prepped and divided, making sure everyone would be getting roughly the same amount, she took some over to her brother.
