A raffle is a "great idea" if you're trying to figure out a way to sink pebbles or monitize your game, but from a player's pov, it is atrocious and I would preffer LW stays away from new ways of adding gambling into the game.
Consider this.
You either have easily acessible rewards which means people won't participate, or you have accesible valuable rewards, like ms items, at which point people will be weighting the pebble to ms ratio against the raffle and big moneybucks will just buy out the ms listings.
Or you have exclusive or super duper rare items, at which point a large userbase will be alienated from content in the game while also enticing the same kinda raffle drama as in fr.
I would rather LW not get inspiration from FR. They would never add an accesibility feature like Nana or have game timers that respect that a lot of people can't play the entire day.
But I guess I should drop a suggestion or few.
I like the idea of adding food to marvin's shop. People always want more food.
The flea market needs a rework, more people would be active there and selling stuff if it wasn't such a pain to use.
More pebble items will always help, but that comes with time. We haven't even seen what the price might be for the higher rarities.
Site wide boons. I've seen some older petsites do this, i've seen one multiplayer game do something like it but the condition was different.
But essentially. Let players buy boons for every user, themselves included for an atrocious amount of pebbles.
Upon purchase, the boon will be sent out to every user (if a bundle of items) or just drop a notification of a boon and how long it'll last.
The boon message will display the gifter's den, a wolf they picked out to 'deliver the boon' a happy moonblessings mesage and the boon gift.
IF the user happens to be blocked, or the gifter has the gifted blocked, the username will be censored with their pack allegiance and the wolf replaced with the pack's deity to keep the no contact between users up.
The same will display if the user picks to send the gift anonymously.
okay so.
Maybe have different tiers with different boons.
Lowest amount?
Probably let users assemble a giftbasket consisting of food and or materials with the amount gifted capped.
Next tier. *amounts are spitballed
1 week worth of +100% cooking speed.
+doubled wild wolf befriend rate.
30% chance of getting double drops while fishing.
+XP bonus for user's pack alligned area.
etc. etc. etc.
Can't buy the same boon while still active, but you could queue it.
Would people buy it?
I can see people parting with pebbles just to show off their account or wolf, nevermind the wild wolf boost that would be useful.
I know it would enable me if i could send people gifts of miniscule amounts of strawberries and sugar.
The xp and ww boon would be a nice thing to pine for during pack holidays too, as people spend a lot of time in the campaign.
The best thing? They can be crowdfunded.
The annoyances.
The messages for timed boons should expire when they run out. Returning after a while of inactivity just to get blasted with FOMO is annoying to most and demoralizing to some.
While giftbaskets should accumulate, they should maybe take up a different notification spot. (blue, yellow or green dot) and you'll have to go over each one individually to recieve the gift.
You should be able to dismiss a boon for whatever reason, be it a giftbasket or timed boon.
Other things?
-shrug-
"Nana needs a nerf."
Well not nana per se, nana is great, but high payout companions need to be axed/nerfed. Low payouts are nice, when levveled they pay themselves back plus a lil bonus.
So low and medium payout can stay as is.
More companions need to give out highly coveted items like saaaay potato soup or hunting trinkets instead of pebbles.
There should be more viable options to pick than just pebble earners and xp givers for nana as non earners do dent in earnings recieved from high value pebble earners.
Heck I'd be into exclusive rewards for some companions. Like apparel or maybe even genes you only get from certain conpanions. More companions of that type = more chances to roll that item, duh.
Obviously an item you use up like markings or breed changes is going to be better than apparel.
I've made a suggestion for diversifying companion play rewards before. It might be worthwhile to get back at it and complete the suggestion with companion rewards that don't give out pebbles but can compete for den space with high amount pebble earners.
