1. They are fine until you harvest them, although if you keep them watered and 'fed' with compost, you will reap more rewards
2. Yes they stay in your inventory. The weekly events cycle every 7 weeks (6 professions and 1 generic festival) and the pack event returns every year, but there are 4 a year (one for each pack). The contents of the weekly shops also don't change much over time, but pack event shop contains a few items that will soft retire. (The ones with the name of the event and year in the description will not be available in the shop next year, so focus on those first)
3. You need 50 tokens. Once you have those, go to your hunting profession. Either reroll the quests or finish another hunt and a Wild Wolf hunt should show up pretty quickly. In addition to the tokens it requires 15k pebbles and will guarantee a wild wolf upon completion
4. Currently the max is lv10, but the staff previewed some plans for the coming year, among others a raising of the cap to lv20. The level cap is tied to the amount of chapters available in the campaign. Currently only chapter 1 is available, but once chapter 2 comes out, the caps will be raised.
5. I believe 99 (based on the achievements)
I personally make most my pebbles releasing wolves back into the wild. At level 10 they give 10k pebbles and 1 token for wild wolves. There's plenty of cheap companions that reward xp that you can slap onto wolves to train them passively.
Goodluck! :)
