You can see the icons for wolves that are ready to go to a nest from the den, but you need to click to each individual wolf's profile to send them to the nest. It'd be a nice QOL feature if you could send them to the nest straight from the den or nest screen.
To be honest, I don't understand why going from expecting to the nest isn't automatic (or why "expecting" is there at all vs. your wolves just spending 3 days on nest like Flight Rising dragons), but if you can see that wolves can go to the nest / give birth on the den page, you should be able to make them do that from there. Also, you should be able to breed wolves from the nest. It'd align more with how every other petsite I've played with breeding mechanics does it and again, reduces the number of clicks and has fewer things coming from the individual wolf profiles.
