Can someone explain wild wolf hunting to me

I like g1 pet equivalents so I think they're fun. Is there like any particular trick here though beyond grinding that one campaign area (the barrens one I think?) it's like shiny hunting to me (really slow a d boring but fun when I can do it at work)

It is pretty much that (although I'm not sure/familiar with a specific area being the best). However, you'll notice that each time you fail you get a knucklebone token. When you have 50 of these tokens, you can get a specific Wild Wolf Hunt in the hunting profession (it doesn't show up 100% of the time, but pretty much 90%). In addition to 50 tokens the hunt costs 15k pebbles, takes half an hour, requires 1 wolf and will guarantee a random wild wolf upon completion.

Apart from failed wild wolf encounters in the campaign, releasing wolves at lv10 also gives a knucklebone token. So I generally combine farming the campaign with levelling wolves so that I can release them at lv10 and get more tokens. I think at this point I have about 5k KBT.

Goodluck!

The only areas in campaign you won’t encounter wild wolves in are the dens, the first areas in each pack. Each sword area has a chance of encountering a wild wolf. However with the event going on right now I do suggest staying in Goldsea, and also the Western Barrens is the most popular grind area overall for the items and food you gather while campaigning there. So, it does seem like you’ve pretty much got it down. It’s a slow grind!

Ooh thank you all for the info!!! I'm glad to know I haven't been using any suboptimal spots but also especially appreciate the bit about lvl 10 wolves giving tokens- seems like that could double the grinding potential which is always fun(??? Again in the shiny hunting sort of way. Lol) thank you!
