Is there any rhyme or reason behind the amount of xp a companion gives their wolf buddy when you play with them?


One wolf will get 16xp while another will only get 6xp...


Levels, breeds, and sexes don't seem to indicate anything so I was wondering if its just... really really random or something?

The amount of xp you get is dependant on two things; the level of the companion and the rarity of the companion. However, each combination of level and rarity has a (wide) range of possibilities. The most common companion (basidio, kuzma) at level 10 can give anywhere between 5 and 27 xp. What specific amount you get per play-round is randomly chosen from that range. For, for example, the holiday snowcat the range is different, I don't know it exactly but I have gotten closer to 40xp from those, so I reckon perhaps the range is somewhere between 12 to 45. Due to the longer play cooldown, in my opinion, it isn't worth using xp rewading companions that are anything but common (grey background)

Hi! Thanks so much for your reply, that cleared up some of my confusion haha.

I mostly use the basidio and kuzma to gain xp. The other random buddies are just there to grow up themselves XD
