Prefacing this by saying I only have about 100k pebbles because I am buying every single MS I can from the FM that I find for a decent price. But I used to have 2mil+ before I started doing this.
Either way I tried writing this earlier and it just turned into suggestions and wasn't really appropriate, so I'll keep it brief and more discussion-y!
I think like mentioned before there are not nearly enough things to spend pebbles on over Moonstones. Even with the update to the professions a while ago. And an issue I see is how apparel works in LW.
I love the idea of recipes. I love making many colors based on the dyes you buy which is a good way to balance needing pebbles to get all the materials. The ISSUE I have with this is now that I have over 100 of each dye, I can make hundreds of these apparel pieces, and now I'm no longer participating in removing pebbles from this site. The materials, after they are obtained, are super easy and super cheap to upkeep. A good idea in concept is just making it harder for there to be a pebble sink in late-lorwolf progress.
So people aren't even participating in the market that much because everything you CAN get, has already been obtained and self-sustaining for the most part. Those who have been with lorwolf for a long time are here. This includes me
And now everyone is having more pebbles than they can ever spend on. The space expansions are decently affordable. Meanwhile it's pretty hard to obtain moonstones through regular gameplay. And cool apparel that isn't custom apparel, I usually see selling in moonstones on the mole market and not in pebbles. Which is fine, sites need money to run and petsites are incredibly expensive, but there's now a disparity of things you can buy.
And also, personally, why buy some MS apparel when there's really cool Custom Apparel to buy instead. And... I mostly buy MS for CA, in pretty sure I'm not the only one. So that drives up the exchange rate.
I really think more pebble sinks would be a great way to go. And to me, this will be the most suggestion heavy thing I say in this thread, I think apparel that isn't locked behind cheap recipes would be a good place to start. I need more spicy apparel to dress up my wolves and I would be delighted about it if this ever happened.
There's a lot of issues in regulating a market, and I don't know if any of the answers here will resolve all of it, but I just hope something can be done to make it a little less insane and easier to participate in.
I want lorwolf to do well.
