I've seen some suggestions for a page to see lineage, but this different enough I think to warrant a new thread:
I would like to see a feature that allows us to put two wolves together to see if they're related within a certain set of generations (I don't know how Lorwolf does it but I would assume there has to be a limit where two wolves are distant enough in the family tree to breed).
Right now what we have is either a) to check within the our own den with currently adult wolves in the breeding screen, or b) to preview two breeding compatible wolves in the demo to get a note on if they're too closely related to see previews for.
This bloodline feature would help with two things:
One
It would be for any pair of wolves, not just breeding compatible.
So I could know if Wolf A and Wolf B are related, even though both can give birth, so I don't try to make future plans to say, use an offspring of Wolf A to breed with Wolf B, only to find they can't after the time dedicated (or, alternatively, if Wolf A and Wolf B are both a wolf that can gift birth and I want to change the sex only for breeding purposes, then to find out afterward they can't be paired, I would once again, have wasted time and resources [and possibly actual money])
Two
It would help would be for lore.
It can be fun to write bits for wolves that are related, and it's good to know. I have a handful of wolves that are somewhat related, but due to the limitations I might know Wolf A is related to Wolf B and Wolf C, but not if Wolf B and Wolf C are close enough to be related to each other. AND since the only way to check is through clicking the parents names, and then hopefully clicking to the right set of Parents/Sibling to connect the type of relation the wolves in my den might have to one another, it becomes very troublesome and nearly impossible to track.
For those who play Flight Rising, there is a feature just like this called Assay Bloodlines. Its measured by seeing if, within 5 generations, two dragons share an ancestor. Again, not quite sure on the limits here, but something akin to that I think would offer practical (breeding/projects/etc) and simply fun (lore writing/roleplay/etc) benefits to the game.
Thank you for taking the time to hear me out.
