[Battling Suggestions] Targeting, rebalance, and arena AI/bot rebalence and companion arena rebalance, XP rebalance

The battle system for Lorwolf right now is kind of unbalanced. Bots in arena are too overpowered and some of the battles are unbalanced. Level 7's can easily take down a level 10 wolf in campaign and I feel like some enemies need a nerf as well with a bot rebalance to make it more easier in arena. Lets talk about the targeting first;

I feel like targeting would be slightly overpowered but great at the same time. Everyone probably hates it when there is that one enemy in a fight that has low health but then all your wolves and companions suddenly focuses on the enemy with full health or just ignore the one with lower health and it honestly gets annoying after a while especially if its a healer with low health in arena. Arena is already unbalanced as it is along with some campaign fights like the Vespen battle. Adding targeting would make arena a little easier on newer Lorwolf players who are still getting use to everything and it can be good for the community as well as make arena more likeable and maybe more players would actually play it more! Which brings me to my next point, a bot and companion rebalance in arena;

Like targeting, arena is unbalanced as it is with the bots which is probably why people do not play arena. The bots in arena can be very unfair getting two and three stars easily while you're stuck with two stars. If we also added companion rebalance arena would be so much more enjoyable. Right now as I've played some matches and noticed that the bots get the best teams with multiple 3 stars while you're stuck with two and one stars. I've also been noticing that if you pick some companion's you will literally get every companion besides the ones you picked which should be reworked because you get bots that can easily get three stars. This can also make arena more enjoyable because it would be slightly easier for newer players.

But I feel like all campaign battles should be slightly rebalanced as well like the Vespen battles. You have to have a full team of level 10 wolves or wolves with companions to be able to beat it. I barley scraped by Vespen battles with 2 level 10 wolves and some lower leveled companions whole trying to level up my companions for referrals. There should also be a XP rebalance. Instead of getting either 2 or 3 XP per battle/explore, per every explore thetre should be at least 3-4 XP while battles giving around 6-7. But for Nana's babysitting the XP should stay the same because buffing it would be way too overpowered.

That is all I have for now. If you agree then you agree. If you disagree please do not start any arguments. Me and my friend Hex came up with the idea that battles and XP need a rebalance over Discord so I created a forum discussing what I think needs to be reworked to help out newer Lorwolf players

I disagree with your proposed solution of targeting, however I do agree that npc/bots in arena should be dumbed down a bit when it comes to party comp/star merging. Or maybe adding a private ranking system to put newer (lower rank) players with easier bots/other newer players while more veteran players get more complex bots/players. I also want to propose that they add the option to buy a specific companion that you already have (for increased paws) to alleviate not being able to get higher star merges because of rng. Because that rng aspect can be very annoying, I do agree.

Personally, I’ve had no issues with my party comp in campaign, but I run a very specific party comp because it seems the only viable one to me. Which in itself is a problem, but I am unsure how to fix that one, so maybe making some battles easier would be the way to go? I feel like if you have a bad party comp in campaign a bunch of lvl 7s ought to teach you a lesson even if you have a wolf at level 10 tho, but that’s just me.

For the xp rebalance, I might disagree with you? But I am unsure of you mean only one specific area having increased xp overall or all areas get it. But I think you mean all, which I semi agree with.

I would rather it be specific hard encounter(s) get the increased xp OR the increased xp applying to all the encounters in every analogous location of it’s tier. (ie: the last location in every biome gets the same amount of xp, but the last location gets more than the first location in that area you got access to). I would love to start a fodder shop, but with the current xp rates it’s just not viable for me (takes too long to level two wolves bc current xp rates low, so it’s not worth my time investing into something like that. So I don’t play as often anymore.)

winning in the arena is a matter of strategy, i get first place against bots most of the time, i don't play it because it's still incredibly boring and the rewards are not worth spending the 20-30 minutes on each game. but it took me a while to learn it i guess

i definitely agree on the campaign and leveling wolves

Perhaps these should be broken up into more than one suggestion, since they apply to multiple different areas of gameplay?

That said:
- Agree that campaign XP rewards should be raised, especially for boss battles.

- Disagree that campaign difficulty needs rebalanced. The issue is more that most wolves (except Kits, Jocols, and especially Direwolves) are poorly statted, meaning the necessity of including them in Campaign and Gauntlet parties is crippling. If every wolf breed was brought up to rough stat parity with Direwolves, things would be a lot better. The fix for now is to use more Kits (or Direwolves) and just accept that a party with Volmyr and Lupins in it is going to get wrecked.

- Disagree on Arena. Bots can get three stars faster than players because they're not selective and spend their paws every round, so they'll tend to pick pieces there are more of in the pool. The RNG aspect of getting stuck with a one-paw/two-paw unit because the pool is just not coughing up more of them is part of the difficulty of this type of game, and something to learn to play around.

- Disagree on targeting because it already exists: Get enough of the Rogue synergy and every Rogue unit will target the lowest-health unit on the enemy backline. (Or, alternately, use Consumed companions and they'll target anything with the Consuming debuff.) I'd support the next released wolf breed definitely having the Rogue synergy to make this more available in Campaign/Gauntlet; right now the only way to get it there at all is with two Darkspine Enderlings.
