All right, who is seriously out there wasting huge amounts of food specifically grinding the bosses and/or not doing the event at all while waiting for a fix just of the boss spawn rate? Show of hands.

This just seems like extremely self-spiting gameplay, if you were otherwise willing to grind the event.

You don't have to be specifically targeting bosses for it to waste food. Pre-nerf, you could take out the 10 bosses task in 3 or 4 stamina bars max. Post nerf, its closer to 10. While the boss task is up there in that time, you also are prevented from getting another easier task to replace it. A 6 stamina bar waste is a LOT of food for many casual or newer players.

There are quite a few casual players who have slowed down their grind because of the boss nerf (this issue doesnt affect me personally but I have several friends who it does)

How are you wasting the stamina if you wait for 2-3 other explore tasks to be ready before working on bosses, then take a break from those to do Arena tasks once all the non-boss tasks are completed, then go back to explore tasks?

Yes, you are still clearing the boss tasks more slowly than you would with faster spawns, so you're not cycling all your explore tasks in 2-3 stamina bars. But if you alternate tasks, you're still clearing two sets of 2-5 other explore tasks while getting that boss task done in 6 stamina bars.

Contrast this with casual players who can't build teams that could consistently beat the bosses -- not me, but some of my friends -- who were completing the items & kills tasks MUCH more slowly due to half their exploration turns being wasted on bosses they couldn't get loot or kills from. Should they be compensated if the boss rate goes back up?

How you choose to play is not the way everyone plays. Many players are completing all arena tasks, then all explore tasks, and rotating between them to efficiently use their time.

Casual players do not have to actually beat the bosses to count for the Defeat Bosses activity - it too is either bugged (or hopefully) is misworded. You just have to Encounter the bosses for it to count. They also have the option to go to another level for those items once their Defeat Bosses tasks are up, where there is no hung up tasks. You can't compare the very rare boss encounters to the explore/kill/find items ones simply because for those, its as simple as changing areas to easily complete it in just a couple stamina bars.

You seem to be taking this suggestion as harsh criticism since you are asking for compassion for the devs. Most people are behaving civilly as they vocalize their opinions. People understand they are a small team. Thats why pointing out bugs & making suggestions are important as they most likely do not get to play the game and have the same experience as players. Player feedback helps keep the game fun for the majority. All that is being asked for is some communication (responding to what is a very important bug/intentional change only takes a minute) or to potentially update the event to reflect the changes. There may not be a need to extend the event, but communication is needed so players can make a choice for how to finish out the event.

We obviously have differing opinions and it feels like you are on this thread to pick a fight so I am not going to continue responding. Everyone is allowed their opinions and many people are passionate about theirs. Have a nice night & enjoy the rest of the event!

@lissajo I apologize for coming off as picking a fight! I probably am, lol, because I get as passionate about perceived unfairness as everyone else in this thread. (And my second, frustrated comment was not very kind.) So I am going to make one last comment, offer an illustration of what I'm trying to say wrt event efficiency, and then step away from the thread.

I am frustrated because as you wisely point out, not everyone plays the game the same way. Focusing on completing one set of tasks to the exclusion of the other set until you only have the other set of tasks to do is a gameplay choice, and not actually the most efficient one! (See below.) Asking to have that choice privileged by extending the event or upping the boss spawn rate strikes me as unfair, puts needless stress on the admins, and (in the boss spawn rate case) negatively affects other players who are making an equally valid gameplay choice.

Please consider that the players you're saying should grind another area for their kills/items still need the boss encounters to clear that task. If they can't kill a single boss, a boss encounter is a total waste of stamina for them except for one tick up on the task. If boss spawn rates are low, though, they will complete their other tasks almost as quickly as people who can kill bosses while grinding Murkwood 4 -- and not have to worry about switching areas just to do one set of tasks.

Why is it fair to say players who can't kill bosses should change how they want to play, but it's unfair to say people who focus on finishing boss tasks should try switching to Arena when they only have boss tasks to do in campaign?

As for grinding efficiency, lemme give a quick illustration of why I am asking people to try ignoring boss tasks and see how that goes.

Let's say you have "encounter 10 bosses", "kill 20 enemies", "kill 40 enemies", "explore 30 times", "find 30 items", and "find 60 items".

For the purposes of illustration I'm going to fix some numbers on their averages. You're going to encounter two bosses and eight Gaudrey packs every twenty explores. Combat encounters award five items and moths/something? only award one item (no tickets). Every campaign task you complete is replaced by an arena task & vice versa.

Scenario 1: Grind Campaign until you get rid of the boss task.

You will explore 100 times, using 1500 stamina, to get your 10 bosses. In that time you will have completed 50 combat encounters, killing 150 enemies, and gained 250 looted items and 50 found items.

You complete 6 tasks.

Scenario 2: Switch to Arena when you have only the boss task remaining.

You need to explore 30 times, using 450 stamina, to clear that task. In that time you have 15 combat encounters, 3 of which are bosses. You kill 45 enemies and gain 75 looted items and 15 found items.

You've completed 5 tasks. You switch to Arena and play that until you complete all 5 tasks (not what I would recommend either but let's go with it). You get the same set of 5 explore tasks again.

You clear those 5 tasks (and three more boss encounters) in another 30 rounds of Campaign, then switch back to Arena (5 tasks), alternating until you complete the boss task in 10 campaign rounds.

You have now done:

Cycle 1: 5 campaign tasks, 5 arena tasks, 450 stamina, 3 bosses

Cycle 2: 5 campaign tasks, 5 arena tasks, 450 stamina, 3 bosses

Cycle 3: 5 campaign tasks, 5 arena tasks, 450 stamina, 3 bosses

Cycle 4: 2 campaign tasks (encounter 10 bosses, find 30 items), 150 stamina, 1 boss.

You've completed 32 event tasks in 1500 stamina.

Obviously this is idealized -- drop & encounter rates differ, you can have both boss tasks at once and they're out of sync with each other, you get campaign tasks replacing campaign tasks, etcetera. But alternating campaign and arena while letting the boss tasks slowly complete on their own is much less taxing on your food stores & (probably) sanity.

Unless you really, really hate Arena in which case my sympathies!! This event really sucks for you & I am sorry; hopefully we'll get something different from non-seasonal events in the future.

I can easily clear out the other campaign activities and still have those stupid boss ones hanging around (especially the 10 count one). That's what happened during Icerun and it was annoying. Then the rate of boss encounters was raised during the first week of this event and it was amazing.

Massive, massive support for this!! Why is there still no word spent on this despite the issue being almost 2 weeks old?! Why is there no communication? Why does this not seem to be a priority, despite the event being time-based and containing exclusive items.

Absolute massive support!

I haven't completed the 5 boss or 10 boss activity in 2 weeks. I've cleared off the rest of the explore activities several times.
