I ground out the Icerun event and.. I just can't force myself to do it again.. I have like 200 tickets I think?

But the bosses being practically non-existant killed my interest in trying last time I went into campaign.

I don't support. While I would love to see some of the other colors of apparel, and would love to hear about the boss status, I don't think it warrants an extension, given the tasks are still grouped enough to make completing them not too much of a hassle? I am not personally grinding a lot, except on weekends and I'm nearly done with the pebble path pass. The tasks were still possible, and still able to be completed.

Edit- also as someone I think noted, the WW rate seemed to go up, when the boss encounter rate went down. I think even if you're struggling to get bosses, the fact you may get more WW's balances it a little?

Support. Those who didn't really start grinding or finish until after the boss nerf are at a significant disadvantage over those who finished prior to the nerf. It takes more food and more time. Communication on if this was intentional or not would be helpful. The event started off so well and then has kinda fizzled between the boss nerf and players anticipating the new items would be released either weekly or halfway through the event

All right, who is seriously out there wasting huge amounts of food specifically grinding the bosses and/or not doing the event at all while waiting for a fix just of the boss spawn rate? Show of hands.

This just seems like extremely self-spiting gameplay, if you were otherwise willing to grind the event.

You don't have to be specifically targeting bosses for it to waste food. Pre-nerf, you could take out the 10 bosses task in 3 or 4 stamina bars max. Post nerf, its closer to 10. While the boss task is up there in that time, you also are prevented from getting another easier task to replace it. A 6 stamina bar waste is a LOT of food for many casual or newer players.

There are quite a few casual players who have slowed down their grind because of the boss nerf (this issue doesnt affect me personally but I have several friends who it does)

I wouldn't be bothered about it if they'd just tell us. Can't they like... keep tabs on the bug tracking thread and just make posts about it every few days or something? I feel like that would be a good middle ground. Just a quick post on the bug tracking thread that says either "Bug: Boss encounter rates are lower than they should be" or "Not a bug: Boss encounter rates are lower. This is actually intentional, and not a bug." It's not that hard to type. Then we'd know quickly if things were bugs or not. Like... please, devs.

I think if we don't get an extension of a few days/week maybe, then perhaps we can find a middle ground. Maybe they can award a few bonus tickets/items to everybody who's been playing during the event? Or, and I know this is a completely wild idea, maybe we can have a few days after the event to buy items. Especially if the new sets get introduced on the last week. That way, you can't get more tickets after the final day, but you have enough time to pick up rewards and pick out what you want to buy. It can't be that hard to implement, can it?

But like, please tell us what's going on. If somebody's sick or hurt so you can't get the updates patched through, just let us know. I promise most of us aren't gonna attack you. (There will always be upset people, you have to get used to it.) Or if it's just harder to do than you thought it would be, or whatever the case is. And it looks a lot more unprofessional to just go silent than to say you're running into problems.

Also, to all the people saying, "I have so much time, I have tons of tickets", yeah, well I have tons of time, don't like grinding, so I play 1-3 hours a day, and I'm not even past level four on the battle pass, partly cause these boss quests are getting me hung up and discouraged. Some of us are very casual. Keep that in mind. I'm not saying the game should cater primarily to us, but we are here, we do exist.

I would be in support of the gifting of some tickets, or some items, but I'm still not convinced a full out extension is the way to go.

How are you wasting the stamina if you wait for 2-3 other explore tasks to be ready before working on bosses, then take a break from those to do Arena tasks once all the non-boss tasks are completed, then go back to explore tasks?

Yes, you are still clearing the boss tasks more slowly than you would with faster spawns, so you're not cycling all your explore tasks in 2-3 stamina bars. But if you alternate tasks, you're still clearing two sets of 2-5 other explore tasks while getting that boss task done in 6 stamina bars.

Contrast this with casual players who can't build teams that could consistently beat the bosses -- not me, but some of my friends -- who were completing the items & kills tasks MUCH more slowly due to half their exploration turns being wasted on bosses they couldn't get loot or kills from. Should they be compensated if the boss rate goes back up?

Friendly reminder that a bit of compassion saves time and is free. Don't want to grind for an extra week? Then just take a break. If the event is extended, you're not forced to play it. But newer and casual players who were stuck in a rough spot now have less to stress about


People come to play this game to relax for a few hours, not stress. Please remember some compassion.

I am asking players who are getting stuck on the boss issue to have compassion for themselves. It genuinely sounds to me that they are fixating on these tasks to their own detriment and ruining the event for themselves.

Ignore the boss tasks & just do other stuff. See how it works out.

Also, if we're going to lecture on compassion, keep in mind Lorwolf has a two-person programming team, four artists, and a single PR person (with seven forum mods we rarely see). They do not appear to have anyone doing focused QA. The lead artist and co-founder lost her mother in the last two years and the lead programmer was badly injured in the last year. Every time they make any change to any system they receive absolutely relentless criticism on the forums & little to no thanks. (I have been guilty of this abundantly in the past.)

So while I would like them to be more transparent about code changes I (theoretical admin) would not want to talk to me (actual very whiny player) about it either, especially if the upped rates were the bug.
