Spring calls forth the fauna and flora to awaken… the Murkwood Seasonal event has begun!
Lore:
Chasing the Consumed from Icerun’s borders only gave Loria a brief respite. Months trickled by, all seeming quiet. Yet the Consumed, relentless in their desires to twist Loria to Chaos’ bidding, were lurking. Inch by sludge-filled inch, the Consumed crept into Murkwood, hidden by the dense foliage. Chaos, the malevolent force that once haunted Loria centuries ago, has bubbled forth again, his eyes now latched onto Murkwood. Rally your pack and join the Murkwood brawl against Chaos’ influence. Read about Murkwood’s encounter with The Consumed here.
How the Murkwood Seasonal Event works:
During the entire month of April, players can earn Murkwood Vouchers by completing various activities around the site. These Murkwood Vouchers can be spent within the Murkwood Seasonal Event Shop.
Murkwood Vouchers can be earned in the following ways:
Releasing Wolves
During this event, Murkwood Vouchers are rewarded by releasing wolves to help fend off The Consumed in the dense swamps of Murkwood. Murkwood players will also earn double Murkwood Seasonal Vouchers when wolves are released. Go to any wolf page and click on the Tree symbol to release wolves.
Seasonal Activities
You can locate these Seasonal Activities on your Activity bar by selecting the switch button at the top right and the Murkwood Seasonal Page under the Play dropdown. Like daily Activities, more Seasonal Activities will appear on the taskbar after completion.
Seasonal Progress
Completing the above Murkwood Seasonal Activities will award points towards your Seasonal Progress to earn rewards and additional tickets. Note: Players may have made some progress in the seasonal event before release, so some seasonal activities may appear completed.
You can also unlock a Pebble Path upgrade for 200,000 pebbles to unlock the Epic Bloodmoon Moss Set. Optional copies can also be bought for Seasonal Vouchers. The Epic Bloodmoon Moss Set will retire after the event and will be placed in the Muddy Murkwood Cache.
Games
Murkwood Arena: A PvE version of the site's regular Arena mini-game. Players can fight against 5 packs of The Consumed with no time limit between rounds. Stand above The Consumed and take 1st Place for 5 Seasonal Vouchers.
Murkwood Trials: A version of the Gauntlet mini-game where players fight consumed enemies. Reorganise your team between rounds to push yourself to the limits. This game differs from the original, however, in that beating and earning rewards for each round can only be done once per seasonal event. How far will you go this season?
New Companions have dredged themselves to the surface in Murkwood!
The Vulkira and Sludgeamander have been discovered in Murkwood’s sludgy depths. Collect these seasonal companions available for Seasonal Vouchers in the Murkwood Seasonal Shop.
The Consumed are available to recruit
Are your lorwolves hopeful to aid, curious researchers or perhaps… agents of Chaos? No matter their interests, some of the Consumed Companions are willing to join your pack. You can find them available for Seasonal Vouchers in the Murkwood Seasonal Shop. The question now is will you be able to resist the temptation of Chaos that they bring?
Notice: The Consumed Boss variants of the Companions are too powerful to be recruited currently and will not be available for purchase. No decision has been finalised for Consumed Bosses and how to obtain them if they become available. We will, however, remove them from the Companion overview as the topic continues to be discussed. Recruiting a powerful boss would have to be an impressive feat indeed.
Seasonal Apparel
No brawl or bite goes unrewarded. Murkwood locals have set up apparel to buy for Seasonal Vouchers. Strike fear into those who oppose you before you even lift a paw with the Moss Sets or take one of the Sludgeamanders with you to display your powerful alliances.
Two more recolours will be revealed throughout the event.
Forum Decor and Banner
A new forum decor and banner is available to purchase in the Seasonal Event Shop.
Player Feedback Changes
Thanks to Player feedback from the first Icerun Event, a few changes have been made.
Feedback was given that too many items were retiring and that too much pressure was being put on the community to collect excessive amounts of apparel before it went into caches. With this to consider, it has been decided that only Epic versions of the seasonal apparel set and two sets of companions will soft-retire into their Pack-related caches. This means that only the Epic Frostbite Winter Hunter Set, Cave and Giant Frostspinner, Glistening Crystalapin and Crystalapin will soft-retire from the Icerun seasonal event. The other items will remain in their respective seasonal shop for years to come, and all to enjoy collecting at their leisure. The affected items have had Icerun Seasonal Item 2024 removed from their description.
As an apology for the change, Lorfolk who have collected additional Icerun sets can message Quiche#460 to exchange their Icerun pieces for the Epic Frostbite Winter Hunter Set or Icerun Seasonal 2024 Companions until the end of November, 2024. Just send a trade with the Icerun Seasonal set pieces which will be exchanged to the Epic equivalent or Icerun Seasonal Companion requested.
More changes have been implemented, including removing the seasonal activities, “Combine 60 pieces in the seasonal arena” and “Purchase 60 pieces from the seasonal arena shop” for better seasonal activity quest flow. Please check the patch notes here for more information on all our changes.
Thank you to our community for all the feedback. We welcome any and all feedback on how our events can be improved in the Suggestion Forums. As mentioned during the Icerun Seasonal Event, we aim to continue building upon these seasonal events and site lore as time passes, with more new items and gameplay to enjoy.
Good luck in the Murkwood swamps, Lorfolk!
