The recent conversation on the Plentiful Profiles thread has gotten me thinking, and I figure now's as good a time as any to suggest what's brewing in my brain.
Delivery System: Currently, Quiche has to deliver the rewards for Plentiful Profiles manually. I can't imagine how hectic that'll get if the site continues to grow. The system doesn't need to be overly complex, I don't think, maybe just something to select a bunch of users that the site will then send the things to automatically? Could input their ID or username, either should work (and both should be programmed in for ease of use). And then it will roll through them in batches, and then mark if the message/items were successfully delivered. (In batches of a certain amount, to avoid straining the servers too much at any one time.)
CA system: I've been thinking, it'd be really good if the CA system had different levels. I know they already have a queue for "Needs editing" vs "Brand New", and that's all well and good, but it still seems to be a big workload, and that will only continue to grow with the site population. To make things a little easier, I think it would be good to implement a system where they can speed through things, in a way, to basically mark it as, "Looks good, needs detailed inspection (for things like stray pixels or details that may have been missed on a first pass)", and then "Definitely not good". So they can run through the queue in batches to easily weed out "Probably okay" vs "Definitely not okay", so things can also get returned sooner if they aren't okay. And then on a different run, check the "Probably okay" group to ensure there's no errors or other issues. It just seems like it'd simplify the process a little bit, as well as maybe make it easier to have more staff members to help out, since they won't have to run detailed inspections.
Also on CA: A back and forth message system, maybe? I know we have the thread for it, but it seems like it would be a little easier if people could just say, "Oh, it's not okay, so can I do this to make it okay?" without leaving the CA area. It'd organize the information about it a little better, for both staff and users.
I dunno a lot about the backend systems, but coming from various websites: The more tools staff has to automate unnecessary manual labor, the better everyone's lives are. (And make sure to not push the site itself too much at once when you can help it. Staggering passing out of messages/items is very helpful for server health.) If you guys find yourselves doing large amounts of manual labor, stop and see if there's a way you could maybe program in a system to help manage it. (This can also double for gameplay. Whatever you can do to make it less painful, that's usually a good idea.)
