Arena Bug: Primal Synergy not activating

Hello!

I'm on the newer end of the spectrum, so if this has been reported already please let me know --- but I've been wondering for awhile why my full Primal () Synergy teams don't seem to do so well in Arena and I think I just figured out why with this last game, the final Primal synergy does not seem to be activating properly in combat. It actually dosen't apply any poison at all if you have a full Primal team set up.


This report is specifically for a full Primal team with 5 total Primal () Synergy, and not the lower 3 synergy version - I will have to test if that one activates properly the next time I get a chance to see in Arena, but I'm pretty sure it isn't acting properly either because even enemy teams with Primal synergy did not apply the poison to my team like it should. I will post an update about my 3primal test when I do it!

Because of the inherit debuff of basically not having these synergy bonuses my team was losing to enemy teams with much less synergies (2-3 synergies could easily defeat me as compared to my really awesome looking 7 synergy symbols) in their teams.

Its not just the arena. Since the 'fix' where made the motivate buff not stack (why?!) and made other (de)buffs such as bleed and beserk last the right amount of turns, primal has been completely borked. Also in the gauntlet and campaign. It's not just the at-the-start-of-the-battle primal damage, any attack that should leave a primal debuff isn't working properly and only lasting a single turn instead of the 2 or 3 it is supposed to.

Hope this gets fixed soon cause it makes a lot of companions and arena team compositions useless and underpowered.

I really wish Primal would be fixed, or if they're not gonna fix it then at least let us know so we can stop assuming it's bugged and work on getting alternative campaign teams without primal in the guides and whatnot.

My main team for beating Simburs had 5 poison synergy (2 kits, 1 canictonis, 1 lunaria) and they used to win basically every Simbur fight. It was rare to lose one. Now it's a real struggle to even beat them once with that group. I think my success rate is roughly 1 in 10 Simburs defeated with that quad. Really really really big shame that we had the Icerun event and I couldn't even run the one team I know that beats icerun bosses. I just defaulted to a set of 5 level 10 wolves and just ate the food waste cost.

The only real player "benefit" from this is that the canictonis boss in the arena is now a million times easier to beat, since it can no longer wipe me out fast with stacking poison.

My advice is avoid primal until we get confirmation on if this is intentional or not. I highly recommend pack mentality for arena, if you can get a bunch of pack mentality companions as your group, you'll cleave through the opponents like butter.

yeah i also wonder about this, i hope we get answers on if it's intended or not 'cause it's just a waste of time for me to level/grind stuff atm if it turns out that's intended? it doesn't feel like it it tho, i feel a lot of synergies between companions that seem intentional get broken due to this? (i think i'd heard durin the event that it was possible the event-based bonus also didn't trigger/stack properly which does make me a lil scared to find out exactly how strong that would've been if it had)
