Nice to get a very different perspective, thank you for sharing,
I was super curious how ppl who actively like & enjoy Arena feel-

And also thank you for even more tips, I've been adding them to a sheet to help me when I do have to play it.

Now to actually respond to what you even said;
Yeah I definitely agree it is impossible for a game to always be 100% perfect,
I wouldn't want the game to change fundamentally either. I am very aware its just not for me,
I think its just the event structure forcing me to play it when I normally ignore Arena that has me feeling this way-
I wish it gave me the option to do profession stuff more , or something else as an option. If that makes any sense.

And yeah I noticed when I have joined Arena is is a lot of bots-
I hope more people play it and enjoy it too- I just won't be one of them after this event

I guess its harder for me since I'm used to having better input on how the outcome of 'combat' goes.
So this game throws me for a loop as I watch my AI do dumb things and lose against someone else's AI, makes it harder for me to feel like I'm learning / really enjoy myself. But all the aid I've been given here has helped a lot.

I've been able to get a lot more of the exclusives, [certainly not all but better than missing every single one]-

I think event arena is superior to normal arena with the ability to fully skip battles and not have to worry about other players. However, it IS monotonous. I would rather do more tasks in the campaign than the arena, so perhaps they could be balanced a bit differently from how they are now. The 'battlepass' increments are somewhat wild? I think putting 100 activity completions is way too much, it just forces the grind into the arena even more. Woof!

I definitely agree that the event arena is better, but its far too repetitive.
I have only half completed the pass [barely] because of how mind numbing its been.

I would honestly rather have more Arena tasks than Campaign ones. The “Combine 60 pieces” task only takes two run throughs of the Arena to complete, but finding 10 bosses takes tons of stamina (and time, especially if you aren't using food to power through). The “Explore” and “Find items” tasks are similarly annoying- the 40 cap on “Defeat enemies” is much more reasonable. I like that the Arena can be done infinitely and completely at your own pace.

One thing that would help people to learn the arena would to also give people more information about the companions on the arena cards visible as you play-- they each have different health, attack, defense, speed, base crit & base dodge chances (that don't necessarily intuitively correspond to their synergies) that you can't even see unless you go to the companion index (or wolf pages for the lorwolf breeds)... where you cannot see them on hover-over (or long press for mobile) either, instead having to open each individual companion's page to see their stats.

I'm not positive if those stats even come into play for the arena, or if it's all normalized and you are looking at synergies/abilities only, because the information available to the player is... minimal, everywhere, but especially on the arena pages. Lol.

I think it is the repetitive aspect the thing that ruins it mostly for me (newsflash, all games are repetitive at some point when it comes to grinding) ;D I also didn't know what I was doing exactly until I figured it out since this is my second-ish actual run in Arena, with the first being just a random attempt to get the achievement lol, THOUGH, I noticed something when playing with bots:

You can press F5 while a match is currently happening and it'll automatically shoot the results at you, either if you won or lost, which is quite convenient If you don't want to spend a LOT of time watching your team try to erase the other one (Disclaimer: idk If this is some kind of bug at all, but let's just say it speeds things a bunch as it is)

Other things you can do if you don't like the Arena at all is play while having a video essay playing on the background, or music, helps a bit in this desperate time,,, because let's be honest, the arena is kinda boring after a few attempts, and aside from looking from strategies there's nothing that interesting about it...

Arena and similar games are basically shopping simulators.

I'm sure there's an easier strat but here's how I play:

1. Early game: buy everything from shops in the first few rounds. Only use the free shop refreshes (you get one for free after each round. Do this until you hit one or two two-stars.
2. Hold til you have 30 gold: Keep using the free shop refreshes and buying units you like, but never use the paid shop refresh.
3. Spend the earnings, but keep your gold above 30: At 30 gold you earn the maximum interest (+3 gold per round). You'll generally have at least 6 gold to spend per round. Use this on shop refreshes and upgrading your team. Don't go below 30 gold unless you have a very good reason to (1-off from 3-star).

Once you have 3 3-stars you'll generally crush the AI opponents. I pretty much always go for Pack Mentality.

Thanks for the tips, and yeah i know most games are repetitive and boring when it comes to the grind,
I am more refering to it's game style, i dont find what is basically AI chess fun, and being forced to play it for hours lol

but yeah it does get...really boring even when i have started doing better at it-

Really hoping they change things up for the remaining pack events-

I'll admit, I haven't watched the bots battle each other ever since I learned that it can be skipped by refreshing xD There's really no point, it's just a time waster.

Just tried the strat just using the first four units that I got doubles of, and it seemed to work alright.
