What do you think the dire wolf markings will be?

Presumably the dire wolves will get their own breed-specific markings. What do y'all reckon they will look like? Personally, I bet it'll be spots of some kind--either like a spotted hyena or like a lynx.

I'll bet the dire wolf version of stripes looks like striped hyena stripes, too. Super excited to see the dire wolf markings on all the other breeds, as well!

Oooh that would be nice. I think if they did "general" spots, it might be possible to work them with the merle accent to create a AWD-type look as well.

Fun fact, we now know irl dire wolves are actually closer (tho vaguely, with millions of years of separation of course) to jackals than anything you'd know as a wolf-- which helped us understand why they have such an odd mix of robust & gracile features. They came from a much slighter animal evolving to fit a different niche that required a bulkier frame! Ultimately out-competed by wolves in the long run, but still a successful species and a cool bit of late pleistocene history.

I don't expect the markings this fantasy imagining of them to come with anything to suggest that, since the jocols exist & the art we have of the new breed suggests lynxy/bobcat features for LW. :P If I was going to guess based on the linework, some ticking and possibly pointed markings similar to their secondary feline species' inspirations wouldn't seem unlikely.
