What is your Icecrun Arena Strategy?

Normally for me, I choose one-three companions/wolves and stick to only buying them the entire round. I normally build up to a team of all three stars and have yet to not get first place a single round.

I default to picking my wolves, Grimalkin, Coral Hydra, and/or Holiday Snowcat. These are my favorites and have yet to prove otherwise. What's everyone else's strategy? Maybe there's something I could improve upon?

I agree that you can basically get all 3 stars of anything and you're set to win. I usually look for something with shields to be in the front row, but after that I've been getting creative and trying out different combos like maxing attack, or primal, etc. Once I get my 3 star team I start buying pieces and combining and selling as much as possible just to do tasks faster.

I don't have a hard and fast strategy outside of three things.

First if I can, I try to prioritize making a 3 star team. Secondly I try to have roughly at least 3-4 Assailant on the team at any given time (you don't have to max it out but towards the late game it helps having a high assailant team), and thirdly trying not to stack too many protector onto the team (some is okay, but I accidentally built a tank team of only protector and found out there's a 20 round limit for beating the enemy team before the game counts it as an automatic loss).

In regular Arena, I aim for high tactician and assailant. That isn't always feasible in Icerun Arena XD

If available, I always grab the Krane. The Siphon Strike and Intersect combo is too good. The Snowloon is also very useful, but not always a must-grab. Algeel, Grimalkin, Macauco, and/or Gaudrey are another I pick up, especially if I can get 2 of either. Pack Mentality gives them 10% extra damage, and Algeel especially hits like a truck. Grimalkin are likewise powerful. Macauco have a tactician synergy, which is a very good synergy to try and max or even just get to the 2nd level. Gaudrey are least likely for me to grab, given my options. Their special gives them bonus damage in their next turns, but not on their current turn, and I prefer them to deal consistent damage.

Bracchus & Kit are another must-grab. Kits have Intersect, which is a good ability, and Bracchus have the Siphon Strike and ignores shields. Jocols are nice, but usually fall behind the other teams.

Thrasher, Stork, and Teufel are also very useful to grab. Thrashers have the double-attack and multi-attack, and Storks have the double tactician synergy. Teufel also have a multi-attack, and their special can wipe out 2-3 of the opposing team.

i prioritize stars and having assailant, primal or tactition synergies or at least some pack mentality, but i don't really bother maxing stuff out, you often don't need to be a full 3 star team to win, just keep your health higher than the bots, if you start losing then it's time to improve

i also usually try to have a healer on my team, but it might just be a case of never having 5 good attack cards at once lmao

I try to get a healer early on, and I typically go for high damage companions. I don’t really like to use wolves? I think they’re plenty useful but as I thought about it for this post I realized that I almost always ignore them.

I grab Grimalkins, Gaudreys, anything with Pack Mentality is GREAT but I also really like to stack Hyped (attack twice) with a high Tactician synergy so they have a chance to attack three times in a row. If I have healers, I only really use them in the early game because I prioritize damage. I tend to get dinged with the 20 round combat limit otherwise. Once I get a good enough team I ignore them and start buying other companions and merge them to help with the “combine pieces” task

I've had immense success prioritizing Assailant, Dueler, and Tactician. I also use these synergies regularly when fighting bosses in the Campaign. I usually get at least one Assailant synergy and then either one Dueler and two Tacticians or one Tactician and two Duelers. If I'm lucky I max out my Assailants and then pour into one of the others. Otherwise, I grab Protectors or maybe Healers, or even dudes who deal Primal and Rogue damage if I have exceptionally poor luck getting my main synergies.

I think I've only lost two Arena battles out of the countless ones I've waged, and that was due to me not getting my preferred build and having a lot of partial synergies. That Timber Howl bot can be such a pain in the neck sometimes!

I... like seeing how far I can get with whatever RNG gives me, honestly, haha. I usually come out as a winner, but it's always interesting to play with different combinations.

This was today's results; I think 21 rounds is the highest I've gone before, but I haven't actively been keeping track for long! I should have gotten a screen of my team, but I forgot lol. Was too excited by 21 rounds XD This was during the Icerun version :)

I go for healing and poison damage if I can, then just focus on buying the same stuff until I get 3 stars on everything.

The pandas are best for this imo, but anything with healing will do.
