I love the event idea but doesn't it feel too grindy atm? I've started farming right after the maintenance and only unlocked 1st tier reward, now I have 2nd tier after getting some sleep (and each tier has increased amount of tasks to do, it seems, 10-20-30-40-50 and so on).
Since it's winter holidays I can afford some grinding, but I won't always be free to keep up the grind this whole month, I don't think I'll be able to get x1 of all of the items want (let alone getting spares for other wolves of my pack or for reselling later). Prices for items/familiars seem too steep (you're either supposed to grind daily like it's your second workplace or don't get everything that's dangled in front of your nose, because you weren't good enough and don't deserve good things).
This makes me rather against the soft-retirement of the familiars/apparel, because everything I won't get this season I'll have to get the next year's one from the special boxes (and it sounds like it'll be by a bigger blood since the box drops probably will be RNG, which means I cannot even choose the item, let alone the "rare and retired" would imply the box costing a lot of tickets).
The news about discord is sad to hear, it was a great place for trading/asking things and getting responses really fast, but I guess some players are already working on making unofficial servers, FR has a lot of those and it's doing okay, so I guess it's fine. I don't fully understand the reasoning though - if it's the mod team couldn't handle moderating discord group, there could be more volunteer mods added, of that's for "revitalizing" the forums to push people to use those, that's not gonna work too well and people are going to use unofficial discords instead anyways.
All in all I adore the new apparel (especially the poinsettias) and I like the new creepy familiars (they'll be giving me nightmares)
@Felius I did the projected math https://www.lorwolf.com/Forum/View?id=10817 here. It will take a total of 550 Icerun tasks to complete the battle pass, with needing to do at least 20 a day to fully complete it. (As an aside, there's a lot of suggestions around the event in the suggestions forum too.)
First of all – thank you for the amazing update! The timing is great and I love having a Seasonal Event.
While it is great that the Premium Battlepass costs Pebbles, I agree with Antaresia – I would immediately support it, if the pebble cost of that and the Moonstone pricing for expanding the Professions would be swapped.
The design of the cosmetics and companions is amazing, Lorwolf’s art style is simply the best!
The voucher prices in the Seasonal Shop are steep. It is quite a grind necessary in order to be able to afford anything. That's why I'm against soft-locking and retiring the beautifully designed companions and clothings. This would also take the unnecessary pressure off the players and allow those who have fewer opportunities to play to achieve everything over time.
Again, thank you for bringing us this awesome update. It is really fitting that we all head to Icerun in January.
I think the soft retiring is fine. But I think the boxes should be sold for Pebbles instead of the tickets. We desperatly need pebble sinks and I think this would help so much for that.
Hi I lurk and go on frequent hiatuses, but I check in every few days.
@Vissyn your math might be off, since you aslo get a fair amount of tickets from achievements and the battle pass itself. The event hasn't been up for 24 hours yet but I've earned 1,291 tickets. I also have a full time job. This event is up for a month. There is lots of time if you just play!
Let's get this out of the way first: love the idea, the lore is neat, the clothing items are pretty cute and very well matching for my packs theme and the companions are really well done. I do like the general idea and overall look of the event, good job.
