how do you personally get MS?

Still fairly new to Lorwolf and am constantly being surprised by how much things are compared to how slowly you naturally get MS(in my experience at least). I had 60 or so MS before spending it on a Custom Apparel, mostly gained from achievements, selling wolves and some FR trading. Prior to that update and selling wolves though, I think it was a struggle for me to get a lot of MS. Any tips or just any methods you personally use that works for you?

I try to hit the maximum moonstone shards every day, and achievements has given me a fairly regular trickle, but as you start to get up there they start getting few and far between from what I've seen. Seems like most people are struggling to scrounge them up right now.

  • achievements
  • crafting items and selling them when there's none of the market
  • selling bulk food (flour, honey, etc.) on the market for 1 ms
  • not crafting shards immediately (makes it feel like more of a payoff later)
  • selling storks/oxen when I get extras
  • selling pebbles for ms when I breach enough to sell 50 at a time (though I find selling 5/10 at a time is faster)

Making ms isn't too hard when you watch certain items in the fm and sell for them for decent prices. Made a good chunk of ms selling 30-99 chars/greylings when I was around the level for them. It's a good idea to focus on items that may not have too active of markets like food items or recipes.

@Twicup

these were some really helpful tips, thank you! Just listed some stacks of food on the FM :)) I was honestly intimidated by the FM because I had 0 clue what people wanted to buy and I didn't know if I'd be wasting my time/building up hope by listing something. Got some questions too; what are storks and oxens? Are they event companions? And what are greylings/chars? Also if there isn't a listing for something, do you have any advice for pricing? No need to answer all of them and I'm really sorry if this is overwhelming! I'm really grateful for the help nonetheless! :D

No worries! I don't know much as the economy goes as a lot of people are in the Discord and probably make trades there, but I usually gauge on who else has things up.
Greylings and Chars are fish you can grab from the level 35 fishing area. I typically use Koda alongside my regular fishing, so there's a lot of fish to pull in. Do keep in mind once you reach level 50 that the fish you gain from Koda are from the last area, so you're missing out on a lot of cooked food.
Storks and Oxen are companions obtained at the profession level events in Black Hills (Icerun Sword Area 2) and Murkwood Den (Murkwood Sword Area 2). They require certain fish and bars respectively to gain, and they're locked behind a profession level.
As for pricing, it really depends on the item! Some items go for more- I've sold single Chaosium nose rings for 1 MS quite often, and I've sold 30 flour and honey here and there for 1 MS. Fish for the fish platter (Chars & Greylings, there are 4 in total) sell quite often because people need the resources! Another way to make money is to farm the first area in Goldsea (though there's no wild wolf encounters) once you have the "Find Ingredients" encounter unlocked for cooking (Oh, you can see these encounters underneath the individual area if you scroll down). Salt, pepper, yoghurt, and milk all sell well. Items that are used to make complex recipes and more importantly salt & pepper are used in recipes that the gardener takes. You can also buy these items in the mole market when they come around, and they sell for more in the flea market due to the high demand.

Chaingunning cheap studs for ms on the FM has gone relatively well for me, tho I've slowed down to focus on my own projects and only regularly have a couple up right now. In the beginning, having desirable colors (especially with novel eye colors as people pursued their lil OC projects) was a surprisingly decent source of ms, but of course that's a gamble of audience size.
Not a pricy gamble since you can breed your own, don't have to feed them, and can level 'em while you're studding them and just toss 'em to the release pile when they hit 10... And then sell the KBs for ms while you're at it. It's not fast, especially not compared to CA sales, but it's a nice and low effort supplement to any other activities.
The cheapo studs I've leveled and tossed paid for their own den upgrades to support more of 'em in the future once I can finally liquidate the project pairs that are refusing to cooperate with me. :P

I vendor sell high end items when they don't move on the flea market, especially gems from mining. You can vendor sell gems from your inventory for 4k pebbles each. Crafted antlers bring in 5k pebbles from vendor selling, and mithril eyebrow piercings sell for 1k pebbles. Cooking nutty feasts is okay, too. They bring 5k pebbles for 8. Gold chains also vendor sell for 5k pebbles. Just make sure your ingredients don't sell for more than the finished items. I can usually put stuff together that's picked up in game play or from the mole market pretty cheaply. I also have a bunch of seeds on the flea market, but they only sell now and then.

All those pebbles purchase ms on the flea market, something much easier now the prices are better.

Early days, I'd sell my G2 Bracchus pups, but I ended up trading away the last pup when he just didn't move for months on end.

These days, achievements. I like to complete achievements, primarily for the satisfaction of having done so, but also I get moonstones for doing so. I've gotten quite a bit from it... most of which has fueled my addiction for natural-colored wild wolves.

In other games, I flip items to get premium currency, I've never had to buy gems in FR (I did a few times just to support the game, but it's hardly worth it considering how easy it is to flip). That doesn't work here. The game is just too new; it doesn't have enough players or items yet.

I straight up buy gems. Every other method is too slow to save in any meaningful way, and even then, I have to be REALLY stingy with spending. I want to buy 1 million besprinklers. That aint going to happen.

I don't feel too bad about it, and I don't go nuts. I don't have any subscriptions services like spotify or netflix so dropping a bit of money on something that makes me happy is reasonable. I had a friend who calls it 'purchasing sanity'. After a long week, if buying a g2 brac for $3 sparks joy, it's a good deal.

I fully understand this is not an investment and this game (like all pet sims) is fragile. I'm going to add the disclaimer "don't spend what you can't afford to flush down the toilet."
