I get this. This week is the first time I got any sort of place since either late August or early September. It was a nice surprise though!

I tend to vote for wolves that catch my eye. That criteria can be anything, from name, to colours, to apparel. I voted last week for a wolf named Hulk Smash xD

9 times out of 10 I'm voting for whoever has a goofy name, totally disregarding what they actually look like or how they are dressed. There haven't been many funny ones lately, people gotta step up their game again.

I feel bad for people who enter plain or simply-dressed wolves so I almost always vote for wolves that have either no apparel or just site apparel that also have cool color combos, or interesting uses of site apparel. I've placed a couple times, but never first.

It is one of the main reasons why I don't like the pageant. Taste differs, and it is super disheartening to hardly ever place with even the prettiest wolf (in your opinion) in your den. Even more so given the fact that those incredibly difficult to obtain moonstones can be obtained via it. (Both by winning, and being semi forced to participate to get the daily ones) If the moonstones weren't involved I'd never participate in the pageant because I don't like this type of competition

Pageant has become close to impossible to place for wolf with no CA. At least for the groups I was in. For that reason, I see more and more "ugly", "No Name", etc wolves that's people just throw in the pageant for the moonstones shards. The result is that you will often see these wolves placed alongside wolves with CAs, as people who just place wolves for the shard don't care for what they vote. That makes wolves naked or with site apparel even less likely to win. I even think I've seen once, all the wolves that won were in the top row of the vote panel. Don't trust me on that, I'm not really sure, as you can't see what wolves were in your group after you've voted.

Personally, I have made the conscious choice to never vote for a wolf that harbor CAs. Even if it's just a small piece. I had made the suggestion to ban CA from the pageant when they were introduced because I knew we would get where we are now. Yeah, I know, an outright ban was stupid, I know. I'm not convinced anymore they should be banned but rather have their own pageant. Even I'm convinced we should have 3 pageant lines "naked" (Only bare wolves), "Apparel only" (site and CA) and "Open" (where anyone can enter with any wolf). And the idea of voting for another group that the one you are in should be added. I'd even go further and say you should vote each day for a different group. So the votes of people who vote for their favorite vote each day weight more, and those who vote for any one weight less. Be because each of the groups would be shown to even more people, things would get more balanced.

I've had a couple place now and then. Some were dressed, some were bare, and it was pretty early on. I'm guilty of convenience voting (the top rows) because I'm only in it for the shards. For me personally the pageant doesn't mean a whole lot because as mentioned above there's too much variation. If there happen to be more players one week that like CAs those wolves do well. The next week might be completely opposite. If the pageant ever becomes about the wolves themselves instead of the apparel I'll be more interested.

I always think I'm showing off the most stunning impressive beautifully bred wolves ever and then they don't even place :'( haha
