This is mostly a joke, but I see everyone brought their A game for the pageant achievement XD I feel insecure with my simple customisations
It is pretty difficult to place, and a week feels like a long time to wait for another chance! I did ok with placing earlier on, but I think it's going to get harder from here.
What are your recent experiences with the pageant?
First pageant: Second place with my grayish progen.
Later on, I decked her out in apparel. Did not place at all.
What is the world coming to?

I don't really think about the wolf I enter I just vote for brown wolves
If you have a beautiful wolf with "No Name" it is less likely for people to vote for it, but people will vote for wolves with good names along with good looks.
I have won the pageant a few times. But yeah, a week is kinda a long time, but the only way to get enough votes in for each. You know what I mean?
I make a point to check out every profile and vote for wolves that have lore in their description or scribbles about a breeding project or anything of that nature. Once I run out of those, I start voting for looks but I tend to lean towards wolves that aren't absolutely covered in custom apparel. Anyone who can pull off a good-looking wolf with the limited clothing options we have deserves the vote in my book.
Not to say I find CA-centric wolves ugly, they just aren't my cup of tea! I love the more natural-looking wolves or seeing someone make a valiant attempt at styling a WW with bad color RNG
When i entered my first pageant my wolf Zorarra was picked because of what i think was her pretty simple and 'natural' colors, then her mate ozarrian won too, and with fodder&site apparel!
Now im not really winning much anymore(maybe cuz im putting the same wolves over and over again), i think my site apparel and lovely colored wolf luck ran out XD (tho no names been popping up a bit more!)

Edit: Agreeing with above, i love picking wolves with more site apparel or none at all than ca apparel, i love to see what the owners of them do with something not made technically by players.

There is such a randomness / huge variability with how the results end up, and I think the variety of responses here are a testament to that, lol! It's just going to be one of those Try, try again things.
I do feel the pain when I'm proud of a new or newly dressed wolf and they don't place 🤣😭 Then the decision: Do I enter them again or go with someone else??
Usually place nowhere but got 1st this last week with Sky don't feel too good this week since my friend that spends money is in my one... only other time i placed somewhere was with Brawl my G2 from my starter wolves at 2nd. Hoping to put Rosa or Aurora in at some point but I don't know if anyone would even vote.
I won 1st place last week, but so did everyone else who entered the pageant I think? There were a lot of first place winners.
Generally, I look for wolves that catch my eye, for whatever reason. Simple wolf when most have lots of apparel or CAs, natural when most aren't, or the exact opposite. Mostly, I go for what look like wild wolves, or the children of such, with wild and funky colors and maybe site apparel only. There's a beautiful simplicity in them that sparks joy.
I think it'd be more fair if the wolves you are supposed vote for are in pageants your wolf isn't in. So people aren't tempted to vote for ones they think are unlikely to win against their wolf out of spite.
I enter wolves that I have dressed up nicely in apparel and I regularly don't place. XD
